My Levi 501's

In the spirit of celebrating Levi's 140th anniversary I chose to style their Iconic Levi501's, the "original blue jean." Worn by celebrities, editors, and fashion enthusiasts alike; this simple yet classic straight leg cut and button fly is still the epitome of chic.
In this post I wanted to show how versatile and modern these jeans can be while still keeping to their aesthetic of fit and durability. Each look is vastly different and speaks to my eclectic style.

For the first outfit I knew I wanted to create a look that was young and playful. I paired my Levi501's with a bright, tribal print sweater and beanie. I also wanted to incorporate my new Isabel Marant wedges since its a great way to add heighten your silhouette. This look is perfect for a girl on the go who needs to get around quickly and comfortably. WIN!

James Dean and his look in the movie, Rebel Without A Cause, inspired the second outfit. Who could forget his sandy colored hair, those piercing blue eyes, that red-hot leather jacket, and of course his Levi501's. (meowww!) In order to give this look a modern and more feminine feel, I chose to wear a black sequined bomber jacket instead of a red bomber for two reasons: 1) I'm obsessed with the empowering effect black has when I wear it and, 2) the sequins are somewhat matted so they aren't too overbearing that it takes away from the masculine meets feminine element I wanted to explore.  To finish the look I added bright pops of color using my necklace, bracelets, and tote. While the 'dominatrix-esque' laces on my YSL booties give homage to James Dean's character in the movie.

For the last outfit I wanted something that could easily transition from rush hour to happy hour. Keeping this in mind, I started from the bottom and worked my way up. Choosing an always sexy pair of black stellitos and incorporating my Levi501's, which I cuffed ever-so-slightly to add height to my petite frame. I paired the look with a shirt dress so I had the option of wearing it buttoned or a little unbuttoned depending on my location.  Lastly, my clutch and piled-high bangles added the perfect touch of color-blocking needed to complete the look, making it an exceptional outfit for work and play.
